VinFast VF 6 And VF 7 Pre-Bookings Open Tomorrow In India – Check Details

Vietnamese carmaker VinFast pre-orders for the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs will start on July 15, 2025. The manufacturer’s first authorized showroom is opened on Mount Road in Chennai, which is a first stepping stone of the Indian market.

First Showroom Opens In Chennai

Mount Road in Chennai has been chosen by VinFast as the location for their first-ever India showroom, where the display of the VF 6 and VF 7 models is bound to attract attention of the public. The Vietnamese EV manufacturer has pumped in US $2 billion (about Rs 17,188 crore) in its India operations, setting up a plant in Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu.

In addition, the homegrown manufacturer has also kept both models on display at select shopping malls across 11 key Indian cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Ahmedabad to help create awareness about the brand before commencement of the bookings.

Dealership Network Expansion Plans

VinFast has inked contracts with 13 dealer partners to set up 32 showrooms in 27 cities in Vietnam. The company intends to grow this network to 35 outlets by the end of 2025, prioritising major cities and growing EV hotspots.

Initial dealership locations include:

  • North India: Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Jaipur
  • South India: Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, Trivandrum, Coimbatore
  • Western India: Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vapi, Baroda, Goa
  • East India: Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar

The touchpoints will have fully equipped 3S (Sales, Service, Spares) facilities with dedicated service workshops.

VF 6 Specifications And Features

The VinFast VF 6 is about 4.21-metre long and is also VinFast’s entry-level offering for the Indian market. The small SUV can be had with a 59.6kWh battery that targets 379 kilometers of range on the WLTP cycle.

The VF 6 comes with flush door handles, LED lighting, ADAS suite, heads-up display and 12.9-inch infotainment screen. Price is expected to start at around Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom) for the fully-loaded Plus variant.

VF 7 Performance And Variants

The bigger VF 7 has a length 4.54 meters long and will have motors in two outputs in the Indian market. With acres of room and a high-feature count, the model is aimed at premium electric SUV buyers.

Powertrain Options:

  • FWD single motor: 204 hp, 310 Nm of torque
  • Dual Motor AWD: 354 hp, 500 Nm of torque
  • Battery Capacity: 70.8kWh LFP unit
  • Performance: accelerating 0-100kph in 5.8 seconds (AWD version)
  • Range: 450km (FWD), 431km (AWD) on WLTP cycle

The VF 7 comes standard with seven airbags, Level 2 autonomous driving functions, ventilation seats, wireless mobile phone charging, and a panoramic glass roof. Pricing is expected to be between Rs 25-29 lakh (ex-showroom).

Service Network And Partnerships

VinFast has partnered with companies strategically to ensure a 360 degree support to the customers in India. The company has collaborated with myTVS to establish 120 service points across the country and with Global Assure for 24×7 roadside assistance.

Further collaborations involve EV charging infrastructure and aftersales support through RoadGrid which will provide reliable charging network to ensure the customer will be connected throughout the country.

Manufacturing And Local Assembly

The Thoothukudi tire making plant will reportedly be capable of producing 150,000 vehicles per year. VinFast already has its first 200 locally recruited employees on board with ambitions to generate as many as 3,500 jobs over the next 5 years.

Assembly here from birth allows VinFast to price product competitively while ensuring quality. The plant will start production by the end of the month, gearing the brand for a dynamic entry into the market.

Both models will go up directly against the likes of Tata Motors, Mahindra, Hyundai, Kia and MG Motor in India’s burgeoning electric SUV space. With pre-bookings scheduled to kickoff tomorrow, VinFast is hoping to project itself as a serious player in India’s premium electric car market.
