For the month of June 2025, the Hero Splendor further consolidated its position as India’s most sold motorcycle with a commanding 3,31,057 units. The commuter segment leader continued to stay at the top with 8.04% YoY gain, faring well clear of the competition in the monthly sales chart.
Honda Shine was at the third spot with 1,43,218 units followed by Hero HF Deluxe at fifth position with 1,00,878 units. The results indicate that it is the practical, fuel-efficient motorcycles that still rule the roost in India’s two-wheeler market.
Market Leaders Command Volume Sales
Just take a look at the June 2025 motorcycle sales numbers to see a trend toward familiar foundation commuter bikes. Its two popular models, Splendor and HF Deluxe, sold over 4.3 lakh units in all for the brand to consolidate its position in the entry price point motorcycles as well.
The third position on the list has been bagged again by the Honda Shine with close to 1.44 lakh units, which depicts the Japanese two-wheeler maker is still a favourite among the Indian buyers. Although sales have tumbled 11.96% year-on-year, the Shine continued to be Honda’s best selling motorbike till date.

Sporty Segment Shows Mixed Results
Bajaj Pulsar reported steep negative growth and saw sales tally of 88,452 units in June 2025 as opposed to 1,11,101 units in June 2024 with a decline of 20.39 per cent. The decline is a sign of challenges in the premium commuter category during a period of economic pressure.
TVS Apache was up in the dumps with 41,386 units recording an 11.37% Year-on-Year growth. The performance also underscores increasing acceptability of TVS’ sporty motorcycle range, especially in the 150cc–200cc category, where it has a 40% market share.
Brand Performance Analysis
It’s not just some of its models, the overall leadership of Hero MotoCorp remains unshakeable, with over 5.25 Lakh total units in categories of two and three-wheelers. This is an impressive MOM growth of 7.39%, further re-establishing Hero as the clear undisputed leader in the domestic two-wheeler industry.
Industry Context and Market Dynamics
The June 2025 numbers indicate that India prefers practical mobility solutions to premium products. Motorcycles in a size range of between 100c and 125cc are still driving volume sales, with buyers favouring factors such as fuel efficiency and affordablity compared to performance features.
The 20% growth in TVS Motor Company’s motorcycles, largely from the Apache stable, exemplifies selective premiumization of some segments. But displacement alone can’t be the measure of the bike because the larger market is still tethered by reliable and cost-effective options that have delineated Indian motorcycling for decades.
The statistics reflect the strength of the old hands such as Hero and Honda who have managed to work their way through the troubled market, and also point towards the potential prospects for those manufacturers who manage to straddle the world of desired performance versus practical-family-orientated folk of Indian motorcycle buying today.
