Tata Motors has rejigged the variant line-up for its flagship SUVs, with new Safari Adventure X+ and Harrier Adventure X/X+ variants. This turn around tactical manoeuvre makes high-end subscription offerings like Tiago, Tigor urban-style and Nexon ECO play more affordable at a higher price range from INR 18.99 lakh up starting with the Harrier Adventure X
These variants result in a streamlined Adventure range that replaces the outgoing Adventure, Adventure+, and Adventure+ A trims. The Adventure X+ on the Safari is priced at Rs 19.99 lakh, whereas the ones for the Harrier are pegged at Rs 18.99 lakh and Rs 19.34 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). However, here’s the catch: Level 2 ADAS with Adaptive Cruise Control is only available for automatic transmission versions.
Feature-Packed Mid-Variants
The Adventure X trims democratize features that were previously available only in top-spec models. That said, buyers do now get a decent amount of equipment for their money.
- Featured Tech: These trims gets voice assisted panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a new more in-line (albeit still large) 10.
- Convenience: Also included are things like a 360-degree surround-view camera, a 6-way powered driver’s seat, auto headlamps and wipers.
- Unique Interiors: The Safari Adventure X+ variant receives ‘Adventure Oak’ themed tan leatherette seats, while the Harrier Adventure X gets an all-black interior with ‘Onyx Trail’ black leatherette upholstery that features tan accentuating.
Mechanically, both SUVs remain unchanged. Power comes from the Kryotec 2.0-litre diesel that produces 167 hp and 350 Nm torque, mated to a choice between a 6-speed manual and a new 6-speed automatic torque convertor transmission. Now both models carry on their reputation of secure automobile, in addition to their 5-in my opinion GNCAP score.
