Harrier EV Waiting Period Reaches 30 Weeks After Huge Demand

New Delhi: Tata Motors’ new electric SUV — the Harrier EV, which has only recently hit the market, is getting an overwhelming response, with waiting periods for the vehicle now stretching up to 30 weeks. The electric car has clocked more than 10,000 bookings, which signifies a strong response from Indian buyers.

The Harrier EV is now on sale in the rapidly growing electric vehicle space in the Indian automobile market since its official release on June 3, 2025. The car has already entered production at Tata’s Pune plant, and the first set of vehicles were delivered to customers in July 2025. The electric SUV will rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV 9e and the BYD Atto 3.

The Harrier EV shares architecture with its ICE avatar and is available with a Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD) and an advanced Quad-Wheel Drive (QWD). Customers will get a choice of two batteries – a 65 kWh pack or a bigger 75 kWh pack, with the larger of the two offering an ARAI-certified range of up to 627 km. The top-spec dual-motor QWD version makes 390 bhp and can do a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 6.3 seconds.

Harrier EV’s ex-showroom price starts from ₹21.49 lakh for the ‘Adventure’ while it goes up to ₹30.23 lakh for the ‘Empowered QWD’ Stealth ACFC variant. Tata officially opened bookings for the electric SUV on July 2, 2025, across all Tata outlets in India.

The popularity of this one is due to key features such as:

  • 5-star safety rating by Bharat NCAP for overall adult, child, and pedestrian safety.
  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
  • A panoramic sunroof and a grand 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) / Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging.

Tata hopes to capture a significant share of the premium electric SUV market, forecast to grow over 50% in the fiscal year 2025–26, with its competitive pricing and an array of features. The strong response it has received right at the start is an indication that the Harrier EV will quickly emerge as a key player in India’s EV industry.
