Tata Motors has officially opened bookings for its flagship electric SUV, the Harrier.ev, with deliveries expected to begin by the end of July 2025.
The wait’s finally over for folks who’ve been eyeing electric SUVs. After months of “when will it come?” following its June launch, Tata’s most premium electric offering is actually ready to hit our roads. The Harrier.ev isn’t just another electric car – it’s Tata’s first all-wheel-drive EV and honestly, their boldest statement yet in the premium space.
Booking Details and Pricing
They’ve kept the booking amount pretty reasonable at Rs 21,000, so you won’t have to break the bank just to get in line. Starting at Rs 21.49 lakh and topping out at Rs 30.23 lakh (ex-showroom, everywhere), the Harrier.ev is definitely playing in the premium league of Tata’s electric family.
Here’s a nice touch – if you already own a Tata EV, they’re throwing in a loyalty bonus worth Rs 1 lakh. Smart move, really. Why wouldn’t you stick with what works?
Variant Lineup
Tata’s kept things straightforward with five main variants:
- Adventure
- Adventure S
- Fearless Plus
- Empowered
- Empowered AWD
Each one’s got its own personality and feature set, so whether you’re a minimalist or want all the bells and whistles, there’s something that’ll fit.
Powertrain Options
Now this is where things get interesting. The Harrier.ev comes with two battery options that actually make sense for different folks:
65 kWh Battery Pack:
- Single motor at the back
- 238 horses under the hood
- 315 Nm of twist
- Should take you 538 km on a full charge
75 kWh Battery Pack:
- You can get it with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive
- RWD: Same 238 hp, 315 Nm, but stretches to 627 km
- AWD: Now we’re talking – 313 hp, 504 Nm, still manages 622 km
That dual-motor AWD setup? It’s the most powerful thing Tata’s ever put in a passenger car. Hit Boost mode and you’ll do 0-100 kmph in 6.3 seconds. Not bad for a family SUV!
Design and Features
Look, it’s still recognizably a Harrier, but they’ve given it some EV-specific tweaks. The front grille’s gone solid – typical EV move – and the bumper’s got these neat vertical chrome bits. Those 20-inch wheels come with aero covers because every bit of efficiency counts.
Step inside and you’ll notice the bigger 14.5-inch Samsung screen that’s actually quite crisp. The JBL sound system with 10 speakers and Dolby Atmos means your music’s going to sound pretty fantastic. Ventilated seats up front are a blessing in our climate.
The tech stuff’s pretty cool too – summon mode (yes, like Tesla), vehicle-to-load so you can power your camping gear, and even vehicle-to-vehicle charging. Imagine helping out a stranded EV owner!
