The Range Rover SV Black Edition joins the SV Serenity and SV Intrepid in the marque’s most luxurious and powerful Range Rover models, and is the third theme for the Range Rover SV car. This new model demonstrates the continuous evolution of the Range Rover vehicle range and all its variants; presented with a unique treatment that is all-black and not limited to just the exterior styling packages.
Design: The Blackest Range Rover Yet
The Narvik Gloss Black exterior is the result of a detailed process with a number of layers. Never before in the history of Range Rover that the equally iconic oval badge has been rendered in black instead of green, a request special permission was presented for to the head of design from JLR.
Outside, there are 23-inch gloss-black alloy wheels, gloss black brake calipers and a gloss black ceramic SV roundel on the back door. The treatment for the grille, badging, lettering and tailgate ornaments is exactly the same, which Range Rover says looks “dipped in gloss”.
The black interior treatment continues and includes Ebony Near-Aniline leather-clad seats with a distinct square-edge quilt pattern. Black birch veneers and satin black ceramic details are used on the inside, while Moonlight Chrome highlights provide contrast in various places inside the vehicle.

Revolutionary Sensory Floor Technology
Adding to the enhanced experience, the world-first “Sensory Floor” is designed to give the rear-seat passengers a connected, comforting sense of well-being, with a full-length center console that houses the integrated Zenith timepiece and controls for the heated and ventilated seats, hot stone massage and heated armrests. The novel technology complements the already existing Body-and-Soul-Seat (BASS) technology and delivers a realistic haptic audio experience.
Antinori SoundScapes Sensory Floor The Sensory Floor features sophisticated transducers incorporated into the floor mats that vibrate in time with the Meridian Signature Surround System. Occupants can actually feel the music through their feet as it sends vibrations through the floor, with Range Rover suggesting that you take your shoes off to experience it properly.
The device has six wellness programs aimed at improving mental and physical well-being through the manipulation of heart rate variability. From ‘soothing’ to ‘energizing,’ these modes can be chosen by users to minimize stress or to enhance focus.
Performance Specifications
Inside the SV Black Edition gets a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with 615 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. The powertrain allows the luxury SUV to sprint from 0-100 kmph in 4.4 seconds, and reach a top speed of 260 kmph.
The vehicle will be offered in standard wheelbase (five seat configuration) and long wheelbase with four and five seat configuration.
Sustainable Innovation
Range Rover is releasing new Pirelli P Zero tyres for all Range Rover models that will be constructed from more than 70 per cent of natural raw materials. These tires are made of natural rubber, FSC-certified, and feature silica made from rice husk ash to achieve the brand’s
eco-commitment while delivering performance.
The new rubber will initially be offered with certain 22in wheels, but it’ll be available with your Range Rover after they reach showrooms later in 2025.
Market Launch and Availability
The Range Rover SV Black Edition will be unveiled to the world at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed which takes place from 10-13 July 2025. Customers can order the car from late 2025 with the expectation of the car being sold around the world soon after.
Range Rover has not revealed how much the SV Black Edition will cost but industry sources claim it will demand a significant premium over the regular SV versions, which begin at ₹4.38 crore in India for the SWB V8 iteration.
India Launch Prospects
Since these are the same SV Serenity and SV Intrepid themes already available in India, the SV Black Edition, may down the line make its way to the Indian market. But Range Rover hasn’t released a date for the Indian entry and could possibly come a few months later to the rest of the world.
