All-New Hyundai Venue Spotted Testing With Major Upgrades

Hyundai’s new-generation Venue is scheduled to be launched in the next festive season with a thorough makeover both inside and out. The second-generation subcompact crossover has been spotted testing extensively in India and shows a Creta-like design language along with premium feature updates.

The new Venue is set to hit the markets in October 2025 with a base price of around ₹8.20 lakh up to ₹13 lakh for the top-end variants. This is the first big generational update it’s had since entering the market in late 2019 and pits it against models like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Kia Sonet.

Exterior Gets Major Design Refresh

The new Venue gets vertically-positioned, stacked rectangular LED headlights with two-chamber matte finish reflectors, similar to the design approach of the latest Creta. From spy pics, inverted L-shaped DRL headlights run down to the front bumper and make the vehicle look much sportier.

Key exterior updates include:

  • Parametric grille with modern elements of design
  • Straight-across LED bar connected to both ends of the car
  • Heavy-duty wheel arch cladding for more SUV look
  • Newly designed dual-tone alloy wheels
  • Rear discs replacing drums from the outgoing car

The silhouette of the vehicle remains unchanged, and the boxy design of the Venue hasn’t been altered. The sharper ORVMs and redesigned roof rails, however, add visual richness.

Interior Set For Complete Overhaul

On the inside, the next-gen Venue will get a brand new dashboard design that is likely to be influenced by the Creta. That cabin refresh includes two 12.3-inch touchscreens – one for infotainment and one for a digital dash.

Premium additions expected:

  • New ventilated front seats – also a first for the Venue range
  • Panoramic sunroof to compete against rivals in the segment
  • Ambient lighting to enhance the mood inside the cabin
  • Level 2 ADAS suite with advanced safety features
  • 360-degree camera for parking assistance

There are currently features like wireless phone charging, powered driver seat, and auto AC with rear vents, which will be carried over. The new version has been introduced keeping in mind the increasing acceptance of premium features in the compact SUV segment.

Engine Options Remain Unchanged

All three of the current generation’s successful powertrains will be kept by Hyundai. The engine lineup includes:

  • 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol: 82 bhp, 113.8 Nm torque with 5-speed manual
  • 1.0-litre turbo petrol: 118 bhp, 172 Nm with 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT
  • 1.5-litre diesel: 114 bhp, 250 Nm with 6-speed manual

This way Hyundai is able to concentrate resources into refining design and features, while keeping the Venue’s already proven performance credentials intact. In particular, automatic transmissions are nowhere to be found in the diesel, but some in the industry say that may change.

Market Positioning Gets Competitive Edge

The updated Venue is entering when things are heating up; Hyundai has lost some traction in the fiercely competitive compact SUV category and it has to reclaim its territory. With players such as Tata Nexon and the forthcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO setting new standards in terms of features and design, the premium positioning of Venue becomes a must.

The time is right for the festive season launch, and the focus on the updates reflects what customers are asking for: modern connectivity and safety. The new model is expected to bolster Hyundai’s sub-four-metre SUV presence, say analysts.
