August 2025 will be a blockbuster month for the Indian auto industry with big launches and reveals from top automakers. Volvo and Mercedes-Benz plan to refresh their luxury offerings and Mahindra to launch a slew of new models for the future on Independence Day.
Here are the new car launches and reveals we’re most excited for in August 2025.
Mahindra’s Big Reveal 15th August
M&M has big plans for August 15: The event is called Freedom_Nu and will see the company announce several “N for new” with a twist. Star of this lineup is a brand new compact SUV on a new monocoque platform. The spy images hint at a sub-4-metre vehicle with proportions distinct from the current Bolero or XUV 3XO families.
Also to take the cover will be a quartet of concepts from the Vision line:
- Vision SXT: Believed to a hard-core model to join the Thar family.
- Vision X: Might ultimately offer a conventional-SUV alternative to the XEV 9e coupe-SUV.
- Vision T: Probably a next-gen all-electric Thar.e concept.
- Vision S: Expected to be a new addition to the Scorpio family, likely to be an electric version.
New Volvo XC60 Facelift: August 1 Launch Date Announced
Volvo will start the month with the introduction of the 2025 XC60 facelift on August 1. World’s best-selling Volvo model updated with minor exterior adjustments, such as a new style of grille design and smoked tail-lights. Above all, the top upgrade is inside, as the C-Class will include an 11.2-inch touchscreen (rather than the 9.5-inch unit) running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset for faster performance. The SUV is likely to be powered by the same 250hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with an AWD system.

Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe: Launching August 12
Mercedes-Benz will unleash the AMG CLE 53 Coupe performance car on August 12, pitched above the CLE 300 Cabriolet. The coupé benefits from AMG styling, consisting of the hallmark Panamericana grille, and quad tail pipes.
It’s powered by a 449hp, 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six motor which drives through a 9-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive. It gives the CLE 53 the ability to go from 0-100kph in 4.2 seconds. The interior gets AMG-specific touches, an 11.9-inch central touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
Other Key Launches
Vietnamese car maker VinFast is also preparing to launch the VF7 SUV, scheduled to be released at the end of August. Further, Renault is expected to launch the Kiger facelift on August 23 that will see cosmetic and feature updates on the compact SUV.
