2025 MG Astor: MG Motor India has quietly given its Astor a mid-life refresh, slipping in a segment-first panoramic sunroof and a bigger 10-inch touchscreen—yet still keeping prices below the Rs 12.5 lakh mark. The updated model now starts at Rs 11.30 lakh (ex-showroom) and arrives in two new flavours: Shine and Select.
The Shine trim steals the limelight with that all-glass roof, making Astor the only 1.5-litre mid-size SUV under Rs 12.5 lakh to offer a panoramic sunroof. The Select edition, meanwhile, plays the safety and comfort card: six airbags, ivory leatherette seats, an auto-dimming IRVM and ventilated front seats. Up top, the Sharp Pro trim adds hot-wired wireless charging for clutter-free cable-free top-ups.
Under the hood, MG retains the familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor, available with a five-speed manual or CVT gearbox. There’s also a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol with a six-speed automatic in the uppermost spec, though current showroom focus remains on the 1.5-litre options.

On the tech front, Astor flaunts its home-grown i-SMART 2.0 connectivity suite—developed by MG’s India R&D team—and delivers over 80 connected features plus natural-language voice commands for everything from cricket scores to weather updates. Safety isn’t an afterthought either: more than 50 electronic assists and 14 Level 2 ADAS functions—including lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning—are onboard to help keep you out of trouble.
Toss in heated outside mirrors (a first in this petrol-SUV bracket), wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, six speakers, five USB ports and an in-cabin air purifier, and you’ve got a spec list that reads like something from a pricier rival.
In a segment crowded by the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara, MG’s refreshed Astor stands out by offering premium-grade creature comforts and high-tech gizmos at an honest price point. Drawing on MG’s global engineering expertise, local R&D chops and a growing track record for safety and reliability, the 2025 Astor could well nudge its way up the sales charts—and win over buyers who crave a bit more bang for their buck.
