Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe Launched In India; Prices Start At Rs 1.35 Crore

Mercedes-Benz has launched the all-new AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe in India, with prices starting at Rs 1.35 crore (ex-showroom). The performance coupe is the tenth AMG model in the brand’s Indian portfolio and arrives as a sportier, hard-top alternative to the CLE Cabriolet launched earlier this year.

Positioned to blend the agility of the C-Class with the elegance of the E-Class, the CLE 53 is engineered for performance. It features a distinctive AMG-specific design, including the signature Panamericana grille, flared wheel arches, and aggressive front and rear bumpers. The coupe rides on 20-inch alloy wheels and is finished with quad exhaust tips integrated into a gloss-black diffuser.

Under the bonnet, the CLE 53 packs a formidable powertrain.

  • Engine: An upgraded 3.0-litre, inline-six, twin-turbocharged petrol engine.
  • Hybrid System: A 48V mild-hybrid system with a second-generation integrated starter generator (ISG) that provides a temporary boost of 23 bhp and 205 Nm of torque.
  • Total Output: 449 bhp and 560 Nm of torque (600 Nm with overboost for 12 seconds).
  • Transmission: An AMG Speedshift TCT 9G automatic transmission with a fully variable 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system.

This setup enables the coupe to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, which can be increased to 270 km/h with the optional AMG Driver’s Package.

Inside, the cabin features a driver-focused layout with premium materials. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch portrait-oriented MBUX infotainment screen dominate the dashboard. Other key features include AMG-specific Nappa leather sports seats, a flat-bottom performance steering wheel, a Burmester 3D sound system, and 64-colour ambient lighting.

For enhanced driving dynamics, the CLE 53 comes standard with AMG Ride Control suspension with adaptive damping and rear-axle steering. Safety is handled by a suite of features including eight airbags, Active Brake Assist, and a 360-degree camera. Bookings for the new performance coupe are now open across all Mercedes-Benz dealerships in India.
