Mahindra Vision S Concept Teased Again Ahead of Launch

Mahindra posts a new teaser of the Vision S concept, reveals some design details in the lead up to the Freedom_NU event from August 15 in Mumbai. The newest video gives a better view of the silhouette of the robust SUV, and reconfirms some of its elements which strongly relate with its Scorpio family lineage.

Key Design Elements Revealed

This new teaser reveals that the Vision S concept gets an upright front fascia with flared wheel arches that are covered in plastic cladding, all part of Mahindra’s design language of a butch SUV. Notably, the design highlights a large hood scoop, which separates it from the rest of the Vision lineup.

However where the Vision T has fat-rolling off-road tyres, the Vision S is fitted with road-bias tyres, hinting at a more street-orientated, though still SUV-capable, approach. Design The design of the car gets a hood, which is a flat clamshell one with big vents, and a six-slat grille which is inspired by the XUV500.

Freedom_NU Platform Integration

The Vision S was one of four concept vehicles—also including Vision T, Vision X, and Vision SXT—based on Mahindra’s game-changing new Freedom_NU platform. This versatile architecture accommodates a wide range of powertrain options, electric, hybrid and conventional internal combusting engines.

Our industry friends tell us that the Vision S could be a possible precursor of the next-generation Scorpio, which may be an EV from scratch or a derivative hybrid version. It is likely to maintain the off-road prowess that the current ICE-powered Scorpio models are known for and will be adapting to sustainable mobility technologies.

Market Positioning and Expectations
