Mahindra Scorpio N Double Cab Spied, Reveals Key Details Ahead of Debut

Mahindra is readying a new pickup model based on its current Scorpio N, and today we have new spy shots of the double-cab test vehicle. These new spy shots give the best look so far at the Toyota Hilux rival, due to be previewed as the Vision SXT concept on August 15, 2025. This indicates that the lifestyle pickup truck is nearing its launch date.

Built on the sturdy Scorpio N platform, this machine is seen to be much longer than the SUV that gives it muscle to flex its road presence. Despite the heavy disguise, the pics show a muscular design, with plenty of load bay space and a separate crew cab for passengers. This prototype was spotted wearing rough-and-tumble steel wheels, which could signal its off-road prowess or maybe this is just a lower-spec model.

The powertrain of the Scorpio N pickup is expected to be taken from that of the Scorpio N SUV, wherein it could come equipped with a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine under its hood, available in combination with either a manual or automatic transmission. There is also next to no doubt of a necessary four-wheel-drive (4WD) system, staking its claim for serious off-roading ability against the likes of the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross as well as Toyota Hilux.

Mahindra had previewed the new generation of its pick-up with a concept called the ‘Global Pik Up’ shown in 2023, and now single and double-cab versions of the model have been spotted being tested in India. These repeated sightings suggest the project is well-advanced, with a likely full launch either coming in 2025 or 2026. The model is expected to challenge the status quo in our market when it comes to lifestyle utility vehicles.
