New KTM Duke 160 Teased For India; Launch Expected This Month

KTM India has released a new teaser on its social media, signaling the imminent arrival of a new motorcycle. The move has ignited the market, with strong indications that the upcoming model is the highly anticipated KTM Duke 160, expected to launch in August 2025.

This new motorcycle is poised to replace the 125 Duke, becoming the Austrian brand’s new entry-level offering in the country. It is expected to enter the market with an ex-showroom price between ₹1.70 lakh and ₹1.85 lakh.

The KTM Duke 160 is rumored to be powered by a new 160cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which will be a downsized version of the 200 Duke’s powertrain. This engine is expected to deliver a significant performance boost over the 14.3bhp of the outgoing 125 Duke, with an estimated output of around 19–20 PS.

The bike will likely be built on the same lightweight trellis frame as its 200cc sibling and feature similar premium hardware.

  • Suspension: WP suspension with a 43mm USD front fork and a rear monoshock.
  • Braking: ByBre braking hardware, though it remains to be seen if it will feature single or dual-channel ABS.
  • Features: Modern additions are expected, including a TFT instrument console, full LED lighting, and smartphone connectivity.

Positioned to fill the void left by the discontinued 125 Duke, the new Duke 160 will compete directly against segment leaders, most notably the Yamaha MT-15. The launch marks KTM’s strategic push to capture a larger share of India’s competitive 160cc performance segment.
