KTM has launched the all-new 160 Duke in India, priced at Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The streetfighter enters the competitive 160cc segment, ready to take on established rivals like the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the Yamaha MT-15 V2.
At its heart is a new 164.2cc liquid-cooled engine, a derivative of the motor found in the 200 Duke. This powerhouse produces 18.7 bhp and 15.5 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful motorcycle in its class. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox equipped with an assist and slipper clutch for smooth gear shifts.
The 160 Duke is built on the same steel trellis frame as its 200cc sibling, promising sharp handling. Suspension duties are managed by premium 43mm WP upside-down forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. For braking, it features a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS with a dedicated off-road mode.
KTM has packed the 160 Duke with a host of modern features. While it uses an LCD instrument cluster instead of a TFT display to maintain a competitive price, it includes Bluetooth connectivity through the KTM Connect App. This enables turn-by-turn navigation as well as call and music controls. The bike also gets all-LED lighting.
The motorcycle is available in three distinct color options:
Positioned about Rs 15,000 above the Yamaha MT-15 V2, the KTM 160 Duke justifies its premium with superior power, advanced features, and the aggressive styling the Duke series is known for.
