Bajaj Pulsar N160 Launches Single Seat Dual Channel ABS Variant – Check Price

Bajaj Auto has added another single seat model under its Pulsar N160 stable, tagged at ₹1.22 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) with dual-channel ABS. The design is not strange to the N160 series, and it was quietly launched by the motorcycle manufacturer to do away with the old look to make way for a new sporty design that will offer more safety features.

Key Specifications and Features

The Pulsar N160, the new single seater, continues to be powered by the proven 164.82cc, SOHC, air-cooled, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine that makes 16 PS of power at 8,750 rpm and 14.65 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. Paired to the 5-speed gearbox, the air-cooled, fuel-injected engine offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 59.11 kmpl.

Enhanced Safety Package

The new thing about the variant is its dual-channel ABS tech that ensures that when brakes are applied in emergency situations, the wheel locking is prevented on both the ends – front and the rear. This is a big step up from the single-channel ABS version, and offers more assurance under braking in diversified road conditions.

The braking setup includes 280mm front and 230mm rear disc brakes which work with the dual-channel ABS system to provide controlled stopping power.

Design and Comfort Features

The Visor, itself built with one seat, looks like the refreined brother of the sporty Visor 2. Key design elements include:

  • LED projector headlamp with DRLs for better visibility
  • Fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth-powered connectivity
  • Telescopic forks to the front-37mm to be specific- offers better stability.
  • Kerb weight of 147kg; ~10-15kg less than the dual-seat model

Technology Integration

Seating options include the N160 single seater, which includes digital console (Bluetooth via Smart Phone). This connectivity feature enables:

  • Call and SMS alerts
  • Turn-by-turn navigation
  • Real-time fuel consumption data
  • Gear position indicators
  • Average fuel economy display

Market Positioning and Competition

Priced at ₹1.22 lakh, the Single-seat and the dual channel ABS variant comes across as a premium offering in the 160cc segment. The motorcycle rivals the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Suzuki Gixxer, and the Hero Xtreme 160R.
