Vida VX2 Electric Scooter Now Costs Less Than iPhone 16

Hero MotoCorp has dropped the price of its newly-launched Vida VX2 electric scooter after announcing a time-bound introductory offer to further appeal to the cost-conscious buyers. Its cheapest iteration is now priced at Rs 44,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi) under the company’s BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) model, which is a sizeable reduction over the launch price of Rs 59,490.

Crazy Price Cut on Both Options

That is a significant discount on the initial list prices announced on 1 July 2025.

What the VX2 Offers

The Vida VX2 is billed as Hero’s entry-level electric scooter with detachable battery and smart connectivity. The Go gets a 2.2 kWh battery pack that is claimed to offer a range of 92 km, while the Plus features the larger 3.4 kWh unit that promises a range of 142 km.

Key specifications include:

  • Fast charge: 0-80% in 60 min
  • Maximum speed: 70 kmph (Go) / 80 kmph (Plus)
  • Storage-Int: 33.2 liters (Go) / 27.2 liter (Plus)

Revolutionary BaaS Model

With the Battery-as-a-Service, the customers can buy the scooter chassis and also own the battery separately with a subscription at Rs 0.96 per kilometre. This solves the worries for battery health and maintenance here, it is under Hero warranty to replace the battery incase if dips below 70% of it’s original performance.

Competitive Positioning

The competitive pricing moves it into direct competition with the likes of the Bajaj Chetak (Rs 99,900), TVS iQube (Rs 94,434) and Ola S1 X (Rs 65,499). With the introduction price, the VX2 Go is the cheapest of this group.

Additional Customer Benefits

Hero is making the pot even sweeter by offering some great deals until August 31st, 2025:

  • Extended warranty: 5 years/60,000 km on batteries
  • Free CoIP Connectivity Pack with navigation / tracking
  • Buyback up to Rs 67,500
  • Complimentary fast charging access

Market Impact

This pricing strategy is clearly indicative of the aspirational targets that Hero has set of holding a 12-15% share of the market by FY26 and being one of the top three electric two-wheeler makers by FY27. With only a 4% market share and 48,674 units sold in FY25, Hero is using its 6,000-plus distribution outlets to dent the defences of established EV players.

The limited availability status of this offer adds urgency to prospects, and Hero does not mention the specific duration of the introductory pricing.
