BMW Motorrad just dropped the updated CE 04 electric scooter, and honestly? It’s looking pretty sweet with those new colour schemes and a bunch of optional goodies you can bolt on.
The German folks have given their flagship urban e-scooter a proper makeover that’s way more than just slapping on some new paint. Look, this matters because the CE 04 is basically the king of premium electric scooters in the above-11kW space. Design
So BMW’s gone and created three different flavours of the CE 04 now. The Basic variant keeps things simple – Lightwhite body, black-grey seat, clear windshield. It’s that “less is more” vibe, you know?
But wait, it gets way more interesting. The Avantgarde variant – man, they’ve really gone for it here. Gravity Blue Metallic Matt with these punchy Sao Paulo Yellow bits scattered around. Looks like someone at BMW’s design team had their morning coffee and thought, “Let’s make this thing pop!” They’ve even tinted the windshield yellow and laser-engraved the rear rim. Because apparently, subtlety is overrated.
Then there’s the Exclusive variant in Space Silver Metallic with some fancy graphics. Picture the CE 04 dressed up for a board meeting – all polished and professional-looking.
Features
The tech stuff? Still pretty impressive. That huge 10.25-inch screen is still there, dominating the dashboard like it owns the place. Split-screen action means you can have your navigation running while checking how much juice you’ve got left. Your music, performance data, charging status – it’s all right there staring at you.
BMW’s also thrown in some nice-to-haves. The Exclusive gets heated grips (thank goodness), a bigger windshield with hand guards, and even seat heating. Because nobody wants numb fingers while trying to look cool on their electric ride.

Under all that fancy bodywork, the CE 04’s still packing the same proven setup. That liquid-cooled motor churns out 31 kW (42 hp) and 62 Nm of twist. Enough to rocket from 0-50 km/h in 2.6 seconds – which, let’s be honest, will leave most cars eating your dust at traffic lights.
The 8.5 kWh battery should get you about 130 km, and if you spring for the quick charger option, you can go from 20% to 80% in 45 minutes. Perfect timing for a proper lunch break.
Safety
BMW hasn’t messed around with the safety kit. ABS and ASC come standard because, well, staying upright is generally a good idea. You can add DTC and ABS Pro if you want to get fancy. Four riding modes – Eco, Rain, Road, and Dynamic – let you match the bike’s mood to whatever Mother Nature’s throwing at you.
Price and Availability
Right now, the CE 04 will set you back ₹15.25 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The updated version should rock up here pretty soon after this global reveal, though BMW’s keeping quiet about pricing for these new variants.
Since it’s still coming in as a CBU import, don’t expect any bargains. But if you want to cruise around town making a statement about going electric while looking absolutely fantastic doing it, the CE 04’s still got no real competition.
