Honda just slashed the City Hybrid’s price by nearly a lakh, bringing it under Rs 20 lakh for the first time since launch.
This isn’t just another routine price adjustment – it’s Honda’s biggest bet yet on making hybrid tech accessible to Indian buyers. With the City Hybrid now starting at Rs 19.90 lakh (ex-showroom), down from Rs 20.85 lakh, the Japanese carmaker is clearly feeling the heat from sluggish sales and wants to shake things up. The timing couldn’t be more interesting, especially with whispers of local assembly potentially making hybrids cheaper to produce.
Price
The numbers tell quite a story here. Honda bumped up the City Hybrid’s price by Rs 30,000 just back in May 2025, only to reverse course dramatically with this Rs 95,010 price drop. That’s a 4.56% reduction that brings the hybrid sedan into a more palatable territory for buyers who’ve been sitting on the fence, wondering if it’s worth the extra cash.
Currently, the City Hybrid is available in a single ZX variant, loaded with all the bells and whistles. The on-road price in Delhi works out to around Rs 23.96 lakh, while cities like Noida see it priced at Rs 22.06 lakh. Not exactly pocket change, but definitely more reasonable than before.

Features & Performance
The City Hybrid isn’t just about fuel efficiency – though that 27.26 kmpl figure is nothing to sneeze at, especially with petrol prices these days. Under the hood, you get Honda’s clever e:HEV system that combines a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine with two electric motors, delivering a combined 126 PS and 253 Nm of torque. It’s smooth as butter in city traffic.
Key highlights include:
- Six airbags for comprehensive safety (because we all know how Indian roads can be)
- Honda Sensing ADAS with collision mitigation and adaptive cruise control
- Lane watch camera – Honda’s signature blind spot monitor that actually works
- 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Wireless smartphone charger (finally, no more cable mess)
- Electric parking brake
- Semi-digital instrument cluster that looks pretty neat
