Toyota Kirloskar Motor has updated its Urban Cruiser Taisor compact SUV, making six airbags standard across all variants. The company also introduced a new Bluish Black exterior colour to the lineup, expanding customer choice. This update significantly enhances the safety package for the entry-level variants of the Taisor.
Previously, the six-airbag configuration—comprising driver, front passenger, side, and curtain airbags—was reserved for the G and V turbo-petrol models. With this change, all trims, including the base 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and CNG versions, will now feature the enhanced safety equipment as standard fitment. Other standard safety features include Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The introduction of the new Bluish Black paint scheme brings the total number of colour options to nine. This joins the existing palette of Lucent Orange, Sportin Red, Cafe White, Enticing Silver, Gaming Grey, and three dual-tone options.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, was launched in April 2024. The vehicle remains mechanically unchanged and continues to be offered with two engine choices:
- A 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine.
- A 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
A company-fitted CNG kit is also available on the base E variant. Key features on the Taisor include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, and automatic climate control. Prices for the Toyota Taisor currently start from ₹7.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
