Renault Kiger Facelift Teased, Announces August 24 Launch With New Updates

Renault India has officially teased the Kiger facelift, confirming its launch on August 24, 2025. The updated subcompact SUV is set to arrive with refreshed styling and new features, marking the second major launch under Renault’s brand transformation plan after the recently updated Triber.

The teaser reveals a few key updates, including a new green paint option and revised graphics. Spy shots and official teasers suggest the most significant changes are cosmetic, focused on giving the Kiger a more modern and sharper look. Expect a redesigned front bumper with a larger central air intake, a new grille sporting Renault’s updated diamond logo, and tweaked headlamps. While the sporty silhouette remains, these changes aim to enhance its road presence in a crowded segment.

Inside, the Kiger facelift is expected to get an upgraded cabin with new materials and color schemes. While the core layout may remain the same, it is likely to feature an 8-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Reports also suggest potential new feature additions like a 360-degree surround-view camera, though a sunroof is not expected to be part of the update.

Under the hood, Renault will continue with its proven powertrain options. The Kiger facelift will be offered with:

  • A 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (72 PS, 96 Nm) with a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox.
  • A 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine (100 PS, 160 Nm) mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT.

This mid-cycle refresh is a strategic move to boost the Kiger’s position against tough competitors like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet. After an initial period of success, the Kiger’s sales have dipped, and this update aims to make it a more compelling package for buyers ahead of the festive season.
