Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has finally introduced the sporty CB125 Hornet and premium Shine 100 DX with announcement of their highly-anticipated prices today. The CB125 Hornet has been launched at an introductory price of ₹1.12 lakh, while the Shine 100 DX carries a sticker tag of ₹74,959 (all prices ex-showroom Gurugram). It must be noted that the bookings for both new motorcycles are now open nationwide.
The introduction of these two motorcycles comes at a time when Honda is celebrating its 25th anniversary in the country and signifies an aggressive assault on both premium as well as mass-market commuter segments. Sales for both the CB125 Hornet and Shine 100 DX will begin in mid-August, 2025.
Honda CB125 Hornet: A Sporty Commuter for Gen-Z
The Japanese brand is bringing the new CB125 Hornet especially to target younger, Gen-Z riders with its aggressive look and cutting-edge elements. Named after the iconic “Hornet” series, in a more compact package to suit bikers looking for some fun on wheels with leading class performance.
The bike’s sporty design is characterized by a beefy fuel tank, sharp rear section and all-LED lighting. But here’s the thing for people who are looking to compete: The Hornet is punched up with features that many real motorcycles at least twice its size would envy.
- Engine: The bike gets its power from a 123.94cc, single-cylinder engine which is good for a maximum of 10.99 bhp and 11.2 Nm of torque, mated to a five-speed gearbox.
- Segment-First Hardware: The motorcycle is equipped with golden USD front forks and, for the first time in its segment, a rear monoshock.
- Techy Tech: It also includes a 4.2-inch TFT screen that has Bluetooth capabilities, turn-by-turn navigation, and call alerts.
- Class-Leading Acceleration: Boasting a 0–60 km/h time of just 5.4 seconds, the Honda is one seriously quick motorcycle that will embarrass rivals in its class when it comes to performance.
Honda Shine 100 DX: The Premium Commuter Choice
Catering to the aspirations of customers who think “Life is a journey, where you unearth unlimited possibilities”, Honda has introduced the advanced 100cc motorcycle — Shine 100 DX — inspired by Honda’s legendary series. Its impeccable design has been created for your comfort. It punches above its weight, throwing a surprising amount of eye-pleasing and user-friendly extras at buyers looking for more bang.
There are fresh graphics together with a chrome garnish to the headlamp, giving the Shine 100 DX a more upmarket feel. It’s made for comfort, with a long seat and an upright riding position.
- Digital Console: A major upgrade includes a new digital LCD instrument cluster that displays real-time mileage, distance-to-empty, and service reminders.
- New-Age Design: The bike gets a newly styled headlamp, sculpted tank with higher thigh pads, and body-colored elements for that premium touch — along with attractive graphics.
- Trusted Engine: The motorcycle employs a 98.98cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine, which puts out 7.2 bhp and around 8.04 Nm of torque, along with a four-speed transmission system to keep you moving comfortably through city streets.
