NEW DELHI: Tata Motors has commenced the customer deliveries of its highly awaited Harrier EV in the Indian markets after its debut in June 2025. The electric SUV has generated enough customer interest and bookings have been underway since early July 2025 for a token price of ₹21,000. The strong demand has put waiting times for certain variants to well over six months already.
The Harrier EV – developed from the cutting-edge acti.ev+ architecture – adds another crucial chapter for Tata in the elite electric SUV category. It comes in an RWD as well as an AWD version, a first for an Indian electric SUV.
Power and Performance
The Harrier EV is available with two battery pack options to suit varying driving requirements. Key specifications include:
- Price: The Harrier EV price ranges from ₹21.49 lakh to ₹30.23 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Battery and Range: 65 kWh and is rated for 538 km while the 75 kWh adds a claimed range of 627 km. The high-end AWD model has a 622-km range.
- Performance: The RWD trims are powered by a 235 bhp motor and the dual-motor AWD variant generates 390 bhp of power and 504 Nm of peak torque. This lends the AWD version the ability to reach 100 kmph from standstill in a mere 6.3 seconds.
- Charging: The battery can be charged from 20% up to 80% in around 25 minutes with a 120 kW DC fast charger. An AC charger requires approximately 10.7 hours for a full charge.
Due to a very good market acceptance, waiting times are increased. According to the press release, the Adventure 65 models will take the longest time to get to buyers (up to 30 weeks of waiting) meanwhile the highest-end versions such as the Empowered trims (including AWD models) have a shorter waiting time of 12 to 15 weeks. The electric SUV has garnered more than 10,000 bookings already, marking a positive start in its fierce competitor.
