Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has introduced the Honda Shine 100 DX as a a new top-of-the-line model of the standard Shine 100. The new commuter bike gets an all-digital LCD instrument cluster, large fuel tank and better looking segments to cater the younger customers in the highly fought 100cc segment in India.
The Shine 100 DX can be booked starting August 1, 2025 with deliveries for the motorcycle to be rolled out in a staggered manner. The company-headquartered-here has stepped up its presence in the entry-level motorcycle segment, as it celebrates 25 years of operations in India with the launch.
Key Features And Design Updates
The Shine 100 DX packs a number of premium enhancements over the base version. The motorcycle gets new headlamp units with chrome garnish, more pronounced graphics and a broader fuel tank that also looks more massive than before.
It’s also the digital odometer that we are quite attracted to and it says real-time mileage, distance to empty and few ride related info. This is a big step up from the regular Shine 100’s analog only configuration.
There are four appealing colour options to choose from: Pearl Ingenous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, Geny Gray Metallic. The addition of chrome on the headlamp cowl and a chrome heat shield on the exhaust pipe add to the premium look of the motorcycle.

Technical Specifications
The Shine 100 DX uses a diamond type steel frame with telescopic front forks and 5-step adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear. The bike runs on 17-inch alloy wheels and tubeless tyres and provides 168mm of ground clearance.
The powertrain is a 98.98cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine generating 7.28bhp at 7,500rpm and 8.04Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. The motor comes mated to a 4-speed transmission and is equipped with self-start as well as kick-start.
It also gets drum brakes at either end with Honda’s CBS for added safety. It comes with a fuel carrying capacity of 10 liters, which is sufficient for daily use.
Market Positioning
Direct rivals of the Shine 100 DX in India’s high-volume commuter space are the Hero Splendor, Bajaj Platina 100 and the Hero HF Deluxe. Honda describes this as a premium variant here over the standard Shine 100, priced at ₹ 68,767 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Introduced in March 2023, the Shine 100 has quickly become one the Honda’s fastest growing motorcycle models in India, and has taken on Hero MotoCorp in tier-2 and tier-3 towns. The DX is targeted at people who are in the market for a feature-packed refined 100cc motorcycle.
The launch also marks the 25th anniversary of Honda in India and the company’s domestic production landmark of 70 million units.
