Goodwood Festival of Speed, UK – Hyundai’s performance division has unveiled the Ioniq 6 N, a streamliner-shaped super-saloon that generates as much as 641hp with its N Grin Boost and sprints from 0-100km/h in 3.2sec on the way to a top speed of 257km/h. Built upon E-GMP foundations, the all-paw electric vehicle inherits the 84kWh 800-V powertrain of the celebrated Ioniq 5 N but adds more aggressive chassis tuning, drift-readied software and headline-grabbing aero.
Powertrain & Performance
- Twin electric motors: 601 hp as standard, with 568 lb-ft.
- N Grin Boost enables 641 hp for 10 s bursts.
- N Launch Control ensures consistent 3.2-sec 0-100s.
- N Battery Conditioning helps warm up or cool down the cells, and makes Drag, Sprint or Endurance modes safer by keeping lap-times more consistent.
Track Tools & Tech
Hyundai sees it as an aggressive assist and, with N e-Shift, simulates eight actual gear changes with the car’s pedal-activated torque “cut” feeling and a new N Ambient Shift Light that flashes the cabin pixels on your eyes at virtual redline. Updated N Active Sound+ now channels via 10 speakers either “Ignition”, “Evolution”, or sci-fi “Lightspeed” soundtracks for an added assault on the ears.
All that has been widened in the N Gangsta here I did mention sideways fans didn’t I? The N Drift Optimizer gets added adjustability this year, letting novices and pros spec things like initiation, angle and wheel-slip levels. Data junkies receive N Track Manager with ghost-car lap comparison, straight from a PlayStation fantasy.

Suspension, Brakes & Rubber
Sprang and new stroke-sensing ECS dampers materialise a fully re-jigged suspension geometry to lower the roll centre and widen the comfort-to-corner-rascal bandwidth. Under braking, Hyundai says the Veloster N can soak up 0.6 g of regenerative gravity—the most of any N yet—but also benefit from fatter friction stoppers. Bespoke 275/35 R20 Pirelli P Zero (PZ5) tyres are wrapped around forged wheels; with each one weighing 1.3 kg lighter than previously.
Design: Form Follows Function
Thirty-millimetre wider arches front and rear make the car 60mm broader in total, channelling airflow towards an a swan-neck rear wing, carbon-fibre splitter, skirts and diffuser for aero balance. Pixelated tail-lights and Performance Blue Pearl paint supes up the N pedigree, while full bucket seats, Alcantara trim and even a rear strut brace means business inside.
Charging, Range & Everyday Usability
Hyundai aims for a 290-mile (469-km) WLTP figure – slightly over 20 km more than the 5 N that because of sleeker aerodynamics. DC fast-charging from 10-80% is still an 18-minute sit on 350 kW pumps, and Hyundai promises improved thermal management for back-to-back lapping sessions at the track.
Market Positioning & Rivals
The Ioniq 6 N should arrive in showrooms worldwide in 2026, wearing a sticker price estimated to start at around USD 65–70 k; its competitors will be the Tesla Model 3 Performance, BMW i4 M50 and upcoming BYD Sealion GT. There is no word on whether it will come to India as well, but with the standard Ioniq 6 planned to be launched in late-2025, expect the N variant to follow suit for a premium north of ₹60 lakh ex-showroom.
