2026 BMW R 1300 GS Breaks Cover With New Colours, Launches Fresh Style

BMW Motorrad has unveiled the new 2026 R 1300 GS with a fabulous new lineup of colours created to drive adventure bike lovers wild. The flagship ADV receives some striking aesthetic updates for the new year, but retains its technical heart and soul on in the feature department.

New Colours Announced For 2026

Here are the two headline paint options BMW will offer on the R 1300 GS in 2026:

  • Racing Red: A bold dynamic red that is now the base color, which replaces the existing Light White shade. This color also helps to reinforce the GS’s sportier demeanor, and it’s an eye-chaser no matter where you are.
  • Option 719 Biscaya (Imperial Blue Metallic with White Aluminum Metallic Matte) – Part of the Option 719 premium package, this new blue and matte white color scheme replaces the Tramuntana gold of the previous model and sets a new standard of exclusivity and style in the adventure bike category.

Some of the other popular colours – such GS Trophy and Triple Black – are still available, which means the R 1300 GS is now one of the most aesthetically several adventure bikes on the market.

Price & India Launch Details

BMW Motorrad introduced the R 1300 GS beginning at ₹21.20 lakh (ex-showroom, India) with bookings available at all BMW dealerships in the country and through BMW Motorrad’s official website. Deliveries will begin soon and Indian riders can finally make a choice between the global colours.

No hardware changes, but still stoked with features

While the 2026 refresh is purely cosmetic, the R 1300 GS is still at the top-of-the-class from a spec perspective:

  • Engine: 1,300cc liquid-cooled boxer twin, which makes 145hp and 149Nm of torque.
  • Transmission: Six-speed shaft drive.
  • Suspension: BMW EVO Telelever and Paralever with available Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA).
  • Tech & Safety: 10.25-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivty; four Riding Modes (Eco, Rain, Road, Enduro); radar-assisted adaptive cruise control, Dynamic Traction Control; all-LED lighting; and hill start control.
  • Comfort and Convenience: Heated grips, keyless ignition, three adjustable seat heights, luggage payload system, and more.

Also new is BMW’s Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) for 2025 and beyond—a clutchless shifting arrangement that’s electromechanically actuated and aims to reduce fatigue on long journeys.

Industry Context & Market Impact

The R 1300 GS still reigns supreme at the top of the flagship ADV slot and does battle with other premium adventure-bike offerings such as the Honda Africa Twin and Ducati Multistrada V4. With these LCI cosmetic changes, BMW seeks to keep a fresh appearance in the looks department while staying current with changing consumer tastes—while not at the expensive of the brand’s storied engineering and FH-do-everything-capability.

BMW’s paint refresh strategy indicates that the brand wants to keep the ball rolling before the big news, or maybe new versions, in the next few years. It has since set the bar for adventure touring luxury, capability and all-road versatility.
