2025 Tata Punch Facelift Reveals Major Interior Upgrades Ahead Of Launch

Tata Motors to take covers off facelifted Punch in October 2025, the model’s first major update post 2021 launch. The updated model receives substantial interior tech updates with discreet exterior updates and continues to be powered by the same tried and tested 1.2 Liter petrol engine which made the original a bestseller.

What You Get: Tech-Forward Interior in the Limelight

The most significant change on the inside of the 2025 Punch facelift. The existing system is ditched for a 10.25-inch freestanding touchscreen with slimmer bezels and wireless access for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Speaking of the interiors, the Punch also gets Tata’s trademark 2-spoke steering wheel which is back lit and gets the logo illuminated, lending it a similar design language as that of the updated Nexon and Harrier. The flat-bottom steering wheel comes in dual-tone finish along with the gloss black inserts.

Yet there’s a big step up in safety, with six airbags now standard across the range. The list becomes longer with more features added as a 360-degree camera and electronic stability control, as well as tire pressure monitor them.

Comfort Features Get Premium Treatment

Ventilated Front Seats will be available for the first time on higher trims of the Punch, which will help reduce one of the primary complaints in the current model – lack of comfort. The climate control system has been switched to a touch-control interface and telephone users now have access to wireless charging.

The analog-digital instrument cluster is replaced by a 7-inch fully digital drivers display, which is also called as the Punch and falls in line with modern automobile trends. The refreshed dashboard still carries the same two-tone black-and-white colour scheme but with better quality materials and a better put-together feel.

Exterior Updates: Subtle Yet Effective

The updated Punch gets a new front grille with LED light bar elements that have been carried over from the Punch EV’s styling treatment. Fresh LED headlamps come with integrated daytime running lights, the rear end gets subtle updates on the taillamp design.

Refreshed bumper designs and updated alloy wheels round off the exterior look. The modifications are of the evolutionary rather than revolutionary variety, maintaining the Punch’s signature micro-SUV dimensions that would have helped endear it to buyers.

Same Proven Engine, Enhanced Experience

Under the bonnet, the car is powered by the same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that makes 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of max torque. Both the 5-speed manual and AMT transmissions are on offer.

The CNG option remains in the lineup as well with the same 73.4 PS and 103 Nm output, although a leaked document earlier in the year indicated that the CNG version would finally get an AMT option to take on the petrol-CNG versions of the Tiago and Tigor.

Variant Lineup Gets Streamlined

Tata has simplified the variant structure with fresh names: Pure (O), Adventure S, Adventure+ S, Accomplished+, Creative+, and Creative+ S. The idea behind this approach is to keep the variant choices logical and clutter free, while giving the key features a distinct ranking in each grade.

Pricing Strategy: Premium Positioning Expected

Expect the facelifted Punch to demand a premium over the ₹6.13 lakh asking price of the current model. It will be priced between ₹6 lakh to ₹11 lakh (source Hum) Source Hum And will compete with the Hyundai Exter, Maruti Ignis and the entry level variants of the Fronx and the Taisor.

In the Market: Beating the Competition

The timing, as you can see, is rather crucial, given Tata’s need of the hour is to keep the Punch at the top of India’s micro-SUV pecking order. The updates catch areas where competitors have been nipping at their heels, especially in infotainment technology and safety.

An October launch would fit with the powers season in India, a popular time for selling cars. This move comes at an opportune time when consumer spending tends to spike during Diwali and its associated festivities.
